General

An apostille is an authentication of official documents issued by the countries’ diplomatic representatives. It is used in the world today to identify the origin of documents and authenticate them as being genuine. It is also used to prove the authenticity of the country’s diplomatic representative’s signature on a document.

This is very necessary when the documents are filed at a notary, which is usually a notary public in the United States. The apostille is done after the original document has been translated into English or another official language. Once the Apostille in Turkey document is translated, it is notarized.

The document is then sent to a notary public for the apostille to be done. In order to apply for the apostille, the original document has to be submitted to the Turkish Embassy or Consulate General in the country where it was issued. Then the original is stamped with the seal of the Turkish Embassy or Consulate General and sealed under it.

The person applying for the apostille has to pay a fee. There are two types of documents that require the Apostille. These are diplomas and other official certificates. In order to get an apostille, you will have to find out if the document you are getting an apostille is in Turkish or English. If it is in English, then it does not need an apostille.
